Willard's obituary (ECM Post Review, June 2002): In loving memory of Willard P. Wredberg. Willard P. Wredberg, 67, a Fremont resident for 35 years, died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, after a long battle with prostrate cancer. Family and friends attended a memorial service Tuesday, June 11 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Fremont, Calif. Willard, son of the late Phillip and Esther Wredberg, was born Feb. 7, 1935 in North Branch, Minn. Willard graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in business administration. Willard was co-founder of Bite and Browse Antiques in Niles and was well known in the Niles community. Affectionately referred to as ”Papa” by his grandchildren, he enjoyed spending time playing pool with his family. He was always ”there” to help family or friends. Willard is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Beverly; children: Sandy Thompson of Pittsburg, Calif., Mike Wredberg of Sebastopol, Calif., Lonny Wredberg and Karen Allen of Fremont; one brother, Carl Wredberg of Princeton, Minn.; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one on the way.
